Everything you should know about IT benefits.
Fundamentals
An IT benefit where the company provides employees with a device – such as a laptop, smartphone, or tablet – for personal use, financed through payroll conversion. The monetary benefit is exempt from payroll tax according to §3 No. 45 of the German Income Tax Act.
Typically, employees pay less than with direct purchase because the rate is financed from the gross salary and the monetary benefit is tax-free (§3 No. 45 EStG). Additionally, the one-time burden is low, as financing takes place over 24 months. The specific savings depend on the individual situation and the program design.
Yes. dedicom operates the programs GDPR-compliant and according to ISO-27001 standards, with documented processes and clear responsibilities.
Dependent on size and system integration. Lean setups can be ready within 72 hours; enterprise rollouts with HR/payroll integration follow a fixed project plan and are individually coordinated with each company and their entities.
Laptops, smartphones, tablets, and accessories from leading brands. Employees choose from the portal; the range can be controlled per program.
HR Practice
No. The program is completely financed through the salary conversion of employees. There are no additional wage-related costs for the company — the IT benefit is thus cost-neutral for HR and Finance.
None. After the one-time setup, the program runs fully automatically — orders, payroll conversion, contracts, and returns are processed without HR involvement. The portal is self-service for employees.
Yes. Our benefits integrate via interfaces with Personio, DATEV, SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, and other common HR and payroll systems. All contract data and payroll exports run automatically.
For MPP programs, we recommend a works agreement. We actively support you with ready-made sample agreements and documentation templates — from over 16 years of practical experience.
Upon leaving, the device can be taken over or returned under the contractually agreed conditions. The return is carried out with GDPR-compliant data deletion — fully documented and without HR effort.
IT & Compliance
OwnIT is MDM-agnostic and compatible with all common solutions — Microsoft Intune, Jamf, VMware Workspace ONE, and others. Integration is done via open interfaces and is usually completed in a few days.
Each device return is handled with certified data deletion according to current standards — fully documented, GDPR-compliant, and auditable. IT receives a deletion certificate for each individual device upon request.
Yes. IT specifies which manufacturers, models, and configurations are available in the program. Employees choose only from the approved assortment — IT retains full control over the device environment.
OwnIT integrates via open API into SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Personio, DATEV, and other HR and IT systems. All device data, contract info, and payroll exports run automatically — no manual interfaces, no data silos.
Yes. dedicom operates all programs according to ISO-27001 standards and fully GDPR-compliant — including DPA, deletion concept, audit trail, and seamless documentation for regulated industries and works councils.
